What Do You Do With the Mad That You Feel?

You watch Mr. Rogers (in 1969) win over a gruff Senator and earn the Corporation for Public Broadcasting the $20 million grant that Lyndon Johnson wanted it to have. Nixon wanted it cut in half to support spending in Vietnam, hence the hearings to discuss the budget. Fred is a complete hero in this clip and the Senator is overwhelmed. What do you do with the mad that you feel? Sing it, Fred.

I figured out why it also got to me ... it felt so Jimmy Stewart Mr. Smith Goes to Washington sans the Hollywood dramatization.

My heart was both broken and healed in just 6 min.

Agreed. I felt so sad and then so warm and happy.

Thanks for posting the video. Frankly, adults need Mr. Rogers more than the kids.

I have nothing of value to add to this thread, not even 5 cents.
