Long Time No See

Tonight I'm doing a phone interview at the station with Christian Wargo of Crystal Skulls. I'll have it ready to air by my next show, I'm hoping. Feel free to suggest questions that I should have asked, as you'll probably see this when the interview is over. Suffice it to say, this band deserves to have something nice happen for it.

Here are playlists for my last TWO shows. Yay for sloth!

I'll write more later on how I'm semi-obsessing over the new Phoenix song, Long Distance Call. It's not their best song, but it has one big ole hook and will stick to your ribs. Click on the song title to get taken to the page that allows you to see the video. They were incredibly nice when I saw them at the North Star Bar in Philly and gave me that sweet promo I've played a few times. I especially like it that you can hear Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" blaring in the background. Ah, Philadelphia.

Pepe

I'm sorry there's been no update yet this week. I planned to scan in yesterday's playlists yesterday, but things have been exceptionally busy and probably won't calm down for a few more days yet. I find that this picture of an ashamed doggie in a child's car seat expresses my feelings about not blogging this week pretty well. I found it in someone else's blog and fell in love with it. I love this dog.

In the meantime, I'd like to encourage you to hurry up and buy Ambulance, Ltd.'s new E.P. called "New English." I've talked about it before and I can't believe how good it is. Every week, I play a different song from it. When I'm listening back to the CDs I make of my shows (I like the music, so sue me), I hear a song that I fall in love with and I wonder which band it is. Then, I realize that it's yet another fabulous song from Ambulance, Ltd. Go go go. Buy this now.

I'll write more later, including a long missive about my incredible new loft bed. It was made by a wonderful man named Maurice whose website is here: MC Woodworks, Inc. I bought a low loft bed, so it's not all that high off the ground. I'll include pictures and blather later. Oh! And I'll tell you about the wonderful discount you can get if you mention me or my radio show to Maurice! He's a prince, honestly.

Take care and I'll hurry up and play catch up with the playlists, etc., soon.

P.S. Don't drive like a jerk. This week was Jerk Driving Week, apparently. I hope you weren't any of the scaries I saw doing awful things on the road...

P.P.S. Pepe Le Pew makes me laugh. I'm nine years old.

Testing My Mettle

Today's show had some sort of mettle challenge-property to it. Every step of the way was a struggle. I enjoyed the music I was playing, but kept making the weirdest errors. Which reminds me: Congratuations to Dan from Wesco, who called in to say hi and to ask how my drive down from Philadelphia is in the mornings. Good news, Dan! That conversation went out over the air, while I was playing a song. *twinkle* Mistake-addled DJs are the cutest, aren't they? Honestly, I'm more precious then a kitten in a mug, right?
Annnnyway, I'd better get to scanning my playlist. I've had a few requests for it already and, as we know by now, I am a consummate professional who is dedicated to giving my listeners the very best at all times. There are many DJs out there who, mistake-making or not, strive to entertain their listeners with good music and a rapier wit. Then, there's this guy.

You know what I always say: If you can't think of anything nice to say, threaten to urinate on a rival DJ's 4-year-old daughter. I had a bad show today, but I'm happy to say that I didn't use racial slurs or threaten to molest anyone. Not that you know of, anyway.

Pssst! Here are today's playlists:

April Showers, May Showers, Sarah Showers, etc.

Hey y'all! I'm all moved to Philadelphia. It rained like pouring pee out of a boot on the day that I moved. That was sad. Then, some stuff has been going on in the apartment that has also been sad. My landlords are mighty, though, and they've tried to fix most of the stuff. I will whine about the shower one day soon, as it's currently frustrating me.

It was Radiothon last week! That was pretty exciting. Lots of generous listeners like Jenna, Roger and Terri called in to make big ole pledges. I love it that people like our station enough to support it this way. Here is a nice picture of me blabbering into the microphone while Bill takes a pledge. I should sit up straight. It looks like I've got a gut in this photo.

This blog entry is going to be lame and disjointed, because I'm having some trouble adjusting to my new apartment. In some ways, it's not what I'm used to. Mainly, it's just moving that's strange, though. Also, the thing where my servants keep offering me massages and money is just getting annoying. I'M TRYING TO WATCH TV, PEOPLE. JUST LEAVE MY EXQUISITELY PREPARED FOOD ON THE SILVER TRAY AND BEAT IT.

Hey! I'm talking about Radiothon again! Joe Madonna and Bill Naylor came by to help with everything. Joe is a sporty coolguy who plays great music and is the station's music director. See? I can prove it.

Joe took this fabu picture of Bill, who repaired our buddy Nipper back in the 80s. Nipper's paw fell off or something, so Bill (who was but a pup at the time) replaced it with a caster. Bill's sweet that way. You can hear him do Tuesday Morning Java Time and you can hear his show, "The Food Court," on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Go ahead. Check him out.

Hey! I've changed topics again! This picture is nifty and disturbing.

And with that, I bid you all good afternoon. I'll be on the air tomorrow, so give a listen between 6am and 8:30am online or at 91.3FM.

(You know, sometimes, I just want the servants to hold me. Is that wrong?)
