Stampede

At work, a nice woman sent out an email saying that there were some Target tote bags available upstairs. You have never seen so many ladies swarm the elevator bay. I hate to say it, but I was excited about the tote bag. It felt like a BIG DEAL. So now I have one. And I have to say, the thrill is not gone. I wonder if it's not just because it's a tote bag, but also because it's from Target. Everyone loves Target. If it were from the Mealy Funeral Home, maybe I wouldn't have been as excited.

Hap Birf

So I had a birthday a few weeks back and it was pretty great. A cab driver gave me a discounted fare, I had dinner with friends and a nice feller, and a waiter made a smiley face out of pesto on my risotto. Life is sweet. What could make things better?

Sweet Sweetness

I ended up watching Little Miss Sunshine again this past weekend. I hung out with three of my favorite humans and we had a wonderful day. I'm not sure I've been that spectacularly lazy in a while, but it was well worth it. Laughing, snacking, more laughing, watching movies on cable, more snacking, and, finally, a hair fire. What's not to like?

Good Things Come to Those Who Complain Incessantly for an Entire Year

Holy heck, people. I have a new apartment. I am crazily excited. Last night, I was so giddy that I couldn't get to sleep until nearly 2am. I know that seems extreme, or, at the very least, painfully childlike, but you have to understand how sad and grumpy I've become in my current home. The shocking contrast of feeling so elated kept me wide awake.


I'd like to write at length about the process of finding this new place and all of the strange and fortuitous things that led me to it, but I'm too excited right now.
