I had a big, adorable post planned, but it's Christmas morning! Forget that! I'll post the rest later. For now, this adorable picture of my brother and me will have to do. Come on, people. If little, red, velvet outfits and hand-holding aren't THE spirit of the season, then I don't know what.

Okay, so. I have a friend who told me that his ex-girlfriend was asked out by her male gynecologist. I was sort of appalled by that. One time, my doctor asked me out, but he was NOT a gynecologist. He was, however, roughly thirty years older than I, which was what made it a little uncomfortable for me. He'd been my doctor since I was a teenager. Hmmm. What do you all think of that? Is it always crossing a line if a doctor asks out a patient? What if it's your ear, nose and throat guy? Or your podiatrist? What if he or she is your age?



In other news, Senator Tim Johnson, the Democratic Senator from South Dakota, has fallen ill and the Democrats' Senate majority is now looking much more tenuous. Republicans could end up in charge of the Senate again. Read this Reuters article for a brief explanation. Sigh.

In still other news, Bikeride has a new album coming out and is sending me a copy. How nice are they? Very nice. Read wonderful, gushing reviews of Tony Carbone's (lead singer/songwriter) and Bikeride's work over here.

I've recently revisited one of my favorite things on the web. Channel 102 has 5 minute films submitted by improvisors, comedians, and other folks in New York. The films are voted on and, if one wins, it is invited to make a second episode, which will then be voted on the next month. Some brilliant things have come from Channel 102. My all-time favorites are "Cat News" and "Fun Squad." Enjoy! Note: some of the episodes of each of these shows have swearing in them, so be careful if you're at work.

In other news, I'm such a sucker for Matt Costa's "Cold December" song. Here's a link to the video on his site. I don't know what to make of this song, but the first time I heard it, I knew I would listen to it a few too many times. The video's sort of pleasant, too.

Yesterday, during the last half hour or so of my show, a really nice photographer named Joe Del Tufo came by to photograph me for Out and About Magazine. Despite making his life a living hell (no one on Earth blinks more or twitches-in-response-to-a-flash more than your Uncle Sarah, kids. It's a real problem), he managed to get a few nice shots. All of them were lit wonderfully and looked fabulous, except for, you know, my face, what with the blinking and all.

I also got to write a few brief music reviews for the Out and About thing. I'll post them, in their entirety, after it's published. They edited down for space and took out a few bands. But I'll make sure that the deleted bands have their day on ye aulde blog.
